Kris Aquino has returned to the Philippines, as confirmed by her friend and fashion designer Michael Leyva through an Instagram Story shared early Friday morning. The post, which showed an airport view from inside a plane, marked her arrival with the caption "I'm so back," timestamped at 5:03 a.m.
Aquino's homecoming follows her recent announcement that she is returning for her second immunosuppressant infusion, crucial for her ongoing battle with several autoimmune diseases. She revealed that the struggle has now shifted from improving her mental health to protecting her vital organs, describing this as the "fight of her life."
The television personality is currently managing six confirmed autoimmune conditions, including autoimmune thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria, Churg-Strauss syndrome, systemic sclerosis, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. She is awaiting results for two more potential diagnoses.
Kris is accompanied by her son, Bimby, and her nurses, while her eldest son, Josh, will remain in the U.S. for a few more weeks.
In June, Kris confirmed she has a boyfriend, a Makati-based doctor, who she credits for giving her confidence to return home, knowing she will have support in her care.
