The Philippine National Police (PNP) is set to submit the official medical findings of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy to the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 159. This comes after Quiboloy's legal team requested hospital arrest for him and his co-accused, Ingrid Canada, in Davao City due to health concerns.
The court directed the PNP to facilitate Quiboloy's medical examination with government doctors. According to PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo, the Pasig RTC will decide whether to base its ruling on these findings or if a hearing will be necessary. The PNP will respect the court's decision.
Fajardo mentioned that Quiboloy is in stable condition, as confirmed by daily health assessments from nurses at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, where he is currently detained. His health is also being monitored by his personal physician in addition to government doctors.
Quiboloy faces charges for violations of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act, as well as qualified human trafficking. He and his co-accused have pleaded not guilty to these charges. Additionally, Quiboloy has been indicted in the U.S. for various charges, including sex trafficking and bulk cash smuggling.
