Ong is the authorized representative of the POGO firm Lucky South 99, while Wu is her boss and godfather. During a Senate hearing led by Senator Risa Hontiveros, Calugay refuted claims of knowing Wu and Ong, despite a photograph showing their presence at the Kasalan sa Bayan event in Sual town. Calugay mentioned that dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo had many companions at the event, some of whom he did not know. Both Calugay and Guo have denied any romantic or business relationship, stating they are just friends. Ong and Wu face a qualified trafficking complaint, with Senator Sherwin Gatchalian confirming that Wu has already left the country.
