University of the Philippines (UP) constituent universities (CUs) came out as the top performing schools in the August 2024 Food Technologists Licensure Examination. UP Diliman (UPD) led with 54 passers out of 56 takers, resulting in a 96.43% rating.
UP Los Baños (UPLB) ranked second with a 92.78% passing rate, where 90 of its 97 examinees passed the test. Following closely at third is UP Mindanao (UPMin) with a 90.32% rating, after 28 of its 31 examinees passed the exam. UP Visayas rounded out the list of top performing schools with an 80.00% passing rate, with 28 of its 35 graduates passing the exam.
The top performing schools are chosen by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) from those higher education institutions with at least 25 examinees and having a passing rate of 80% or higher.
Several Iskolar ng Bayan also landed in the top ten spots of successful examinees. Arvin James G. Doromal of UPD, Marlen DLC Tabudlong of UPLB, and Jan Vincent DLR Tecson, also of UPD, shared the second spot, all of them having an 87.75% rating.
Jeremiah A. Abog of UPD and James Ryan D. Aranzado of UPLB tied for fourth place with an 87.25% rating. They are followed closely by Roselle Ivy M. Casumbal of UPLB at the fifth spot with an 87.00% rating.
Nicole Angeline A. Dasalla of UP Min, Hannah Angelica A. Guese of UPLB, and Claire Anne D. Samaniego of UPD each secured sixth place with all of them passing the examination with an 86.75% passing.
A couple of Iskolar ng Bayan also shared seventh place in the exam. UPD alumni, Carl Katley L. Baluyut and Jozelle Mae B. Miguel, had a passing rate of 86.50%.
Samantha Kathryna V. Katigbak, Riley Leroy T. Lim, and Cecilia Louise P. Yabut, all from UPD, secured eighth place with a rating of 86.25%.
Two UPLB alumni landed at ninth place. Maria Shanaia A. De Las Alas and Jose Amado DLS Torreda earned an 86.00% rating.
Completing the list of Iskolar ng Bayan in the top 10 exam passers are Bernadette L. Clarito of UPD, Francis Philip G. Deluao of UPMin, Gilbert S. Felongco of UPD, Daniel SA Gaspan of UPD, Alithea A. Jumawan-Balitaon of UPLB, and Daniel Joshua L. Tayamora of UPD. All of them tied for tenth place with an 85.75% rating.
A total of 995 examinees from the country's higher education institutions took the licensure examination, with only 510 passing, while 121 examinees are still on conditional status. The results registered a passing rate of 51.26%.
