72 percent of micro, small and medium enterprises or MSMEs in Bulacan have resumed their jobs since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020.
Department of Trade and Industry or DTI Provincial Director Edna Dizon said that the target of 3,000 MSMEs in priority sectors such as processed foods, agribusiness, clothing, housewares, decors and transportation, 2,084 of them are able to resume business.
Proof of this is the Locally Sourced-Fresh Local Produce Fair, the first face-to-face trade fair in Bulacan that opened since 2020.
An initial 20 MSMEs in the food production and horticulture sector participated in the fair.
According to Dizon, they are among the 72% who are starting to recover, and DTI Bulacan is supporting them to continue their operations.
Through the agency, Robinson's Place Malolos provided free use of their main hall for the said trade fair from July 15 to July 18, 2021.
This includes the implementation of minimum health protocols, to avoid overcrowding.
