The newly-paved concrete road that was implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), is now being enjoyed by some 200 farming families in Barangay Binubuhan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
According to DPWH-Western Visayas regional director Lea Delfinado, the said PHP9.63-million worth of improved road gives convenience to farmers and planters for their transport system.
Now, they can easily deliver their farm products to the markets, save time and expenses in the transport of goods, helping them earn more for their families added Delfinado.
DPWH-Negros Occidental 4th District Engineering Office data say that the 640-meter farm-to-market road has been paved with a five-meter wide, two-lane concrete cement pavement. It also includes a provision of slope protection.
As a faster means for the delivery of farming goods, the improved road also gives residents, travelers and commuters a more convenient and safe travel. Basic government services will also be delivered faster, to the far reaches of the town.
