A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between the regional office of the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) for projects and programs of indigenous Manide and Dumagat in Camarines Norte province.

This is in connection with the conducted launch of the Indigenous Peoples (IP) Desk in every police unit in the province held at the Camarines Norte Police Provincial Office, Camp Wenceslao Q. Vinzons, Daet recently.

According to Lee T. Arroyo, regional director of NCIP Bicol, the MOA is a formal recognition that the two offices will spearhead the goal for better cooperation towards the benefit of indigenous communities as well as the people in general.

He also said the purpose of the MOA is to provide a framework to expedite the joint efforts of each office in the field of providing good services to indigenous peoples with regard to their rights, culture, tradition and identity.
