Some 39 senior citizens at the Home for the Aged facility of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-XI) who were abandoned and neglected got their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine for Covid-19 recently. The vaccination for 11 others of the 50 residents was deferred due to their health conditions.

But they will still receive their vaccination once their health condition warrant said in a press release from the Tagum City Information Office.

Facility manager Candelaria Tingson was grateful for the city government through the Tagum City Health Office for assisting the inoculation of their senior citizens.

Next to be served by the CHO Tagum mobile vaccination team is at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology to administer the Covid-19 vaccine to persons deprive of liberty.

Tagum City is under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine starting July 1 and the whole of the Davao Region after a surge of Covid-19 cases in the area.

The city government already inoculated 92 percent of its health care workers, 46 percent for senior citizens, 5,113 individuals with co-morbidities.
