A joint buy bust operations was conducted by the operatives of the Zamboanga City Police Office, ZCPS4 together with personnel of the Sulu PIT, RIU9 PNP-IG, RMU9-PNP Maritime Group and NICA-D6 at around 3:30 AM of July 16, 2021 at Sitio Bactus, Barangay Talabaan, Zamboanga City that resulted in the arrest of MAJI JUHURI of legal age, married and a resident of said place.

In his report, Police Colonel Rexmel G Reyes, City Director says that the suspect is involved in the selling/distribution of components used in dynamite fishing in Zamboanga City. He was previously arrested for the same violation sometime on February 2018 while they were transporting 20 sacks of Ammonium Nitrate, but was released upon posting bail.

Confiscated from his possession and control were the following items: 2 non electric blasting caps; 2 liters bottles of alleged ANFO; 37 cm commercial red time fuse; 1.7 meters commercial red time fuse; 1 piece genuine one Thousand Peso bill marked money accompanied with 1 piece boodle money of One Thousand Peso bill.

The said operations was witnessed by Barangay Officials of Talabaan and Media Representatives.

Further, suspect is now under the custody of ZCPS4 for documentation and for filing of appropriate charges while the confiscated/seized items were turned-over to RECU9 for proper disposition.

Police Colonel Reyes stresses that the operations was launched to eradicate the illegal activity of the suspect, taking into account if said components fall in the hands of terrorist groups it would be a threat to the peace and order of the city.
