The 443rd Founding Anniversary of the Province of Bulacan, was simply celebrated at the Capitol grounds in Malolos. This is based on the New Provincial Administrative Code, August 15, 1578 as the recognized, day the province was established.

Governor Daniel Fernando, Vice Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan led the flower offering at the monument of Marcelo H. Del Pilar.

Fernando said that amidst the hardship and grief during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bulakenyos will remain steadfast and full of hope.

He said that the situation has produced modern heroes, willing to save the lives of his kababayans and have remained faithful to the sworn duty despite the danger to their safety.

The provincial chief also urged the Bulakenyos to keep in mind the sacrifices of their ancestors and appreciate the rich heritage of the province that symbolizes the resilience of the Bulakenyos today.

In this regard, the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office officially launched their third heritage book "SINEliksik Bulacan: Bayani ng Kanyang Panahon, Inspirasyon Natin Ngayon!" featuring the Bulakenyo heroes of the Filipino-Spanish and Filipino-American wars; and the frontliners as heroes in today's era, as the province continues to battle the pandemic.
