Donya Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan has inaugurated the newly built Coffee Processing Facility that will serve as a mill and wrapper for the coffee harvested in barangay Talbak.

According to Department of Agriculture or DA Undersecretary Evelyn Lavina, it was funded with 2.1 million pesos from the agency's allocation to Bayanihan to Recover as One Act or Republic Act 11494.

He said that coffee is a priority industry so funds have been allocated to help with the economic recovery. The center will be managed by Talbak Fruits and Coffee Growers Inc. which includes the 213 coffee growers in the said barangay.

Inside the DA-funded facility, equipment donated by the Department of Trade and Industry or DTI was placed under the Shared-Service Facility worth 230 thousand pesos.

DTI Provincial Director Edna Dizon said the agency provided complete with basic tools and equipment such as mechanical solar dryer to dry coffee beans, winnower machine that separates the sizes or smallness of beans, mellanger machine or grinder, moisture meter or the measure of whether the beans are dry or not and the scales.

In this regard, Governor Daniel Fernando assured that the Provincial Agriculture Office will continue to conduct various trainings for coffee growers in Donya Remedios Trinidad, to truly raise the standard of living and quality of coffee products.
