Beatrice Luigi Gallarde Gomez was crowned on September 30, as the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 and was the very first member of the LGBT to take home the title. She competed with 28 pageant contestants held in Hennan Resort Convention Center at Panglao, Bohol where she won other special awards such as Best in Swimsuit, Best in Evening Gown, Miss Luxxe Immunplus Game Changer, and Miss Creamsilk.

The 26-year old Filipino model, athlete, navy reservist, community development worker, and beauty pageant titleholder is set to represent the Philippines at the upcoming 70th Miss Universe 2021 in Eliat, Israel in December 2021.

Advocacy

Being the first openly bisexual woman to win the Miss Universe Philippines crown, Gomez aims to promote gender sensitivity, awareness, acceptance, and equal rights for the members of the LGBT, as well as for the younger generation who are often bullied and experience different forms of violence at the younger age.

To support her cause, Gomez co-founded the NGO BEYouthfulPH to assist kids and teenagers across the Philippines, who are in conflict with the law and encourage them to become better individuals.

Education

Apart from her physical attributes, Beatrice Luigi Gomez is a beauty queen with both beauty and brains. She is a degree holder in Mass Communication at the University of San Jose-Recoletos, Cebu City, and an athletic scholar playing for the university's volleyball team.

Modeling & Pageant Journey

Although Beatrice Luigi Gomez has not been into many beauty pageants, her modeling career which started from January 2010 to October 2020 with AD Models Philippines helped her get into pageantry and win the crown. Gomez got into modeling in 2010 to financially assist her single mom, and currently works with Origin Model & Artist Management.

Gomez got into a beauty pageant in 2015 where she won at the Miss Mandaue 2015 as the second runner-up. Afterward, she joined the Binibining Cebu 2020 representing San Fernando and won the title, and other special awards including Best in Swimwear, Miss Foton, and Miss Body Worx Medical Spa. She reigned for 20 months as Binibining Cebu 2020 due to the pandemic and had partaken in several outreach programs in Cebu during her reign.

Personal Life & Hobbies

As Gomez made the history of the first openly bisexual woman winning the crown, she is proudly in a 7 years relationship with her disc jockey and entrepreneur girlfriend Kate Jagdon.

She also claimed in her introduction video for Miss Universe Philippines 2021 that she is an adrenaline junkie and into sports like scuba diving, boxing, and mixed martial arts. Moreover, she also got into airsoft shooting, wakeboarding, and recently joined a 42-kilometer marathon cause for the children's in Negros distressed by armed discord.

Birthplace

The beauty queen was born on February 23, 1995, in San Fernando, Cebu City where she was crowned as the Binibing Cebu 2020 for representing San Fernando.

Physical Attributes

Gomez has a well-built and athletic physique standing 5'9 and weighs around 55-60 kg. She is one of the tallest beauty pageants contestants and resembles a pure Filipino beauty. Although there are reports that she was Filipino-American, Gomez did not state any details about her father.

She also joined the Philippine Army Reserve Command in Eastern Visayas where she completed her military course training in January 2021. She was ranked as a corporal and promoted to sergeant in October 2021.
