90s kids! Do you remember eating breakfast cereal while propped in front of the television, feeling giddy while watching two anthropomorphic bananas wearing their blue and white striped pajamas and joining in as they say their famous lines when planning something (after that "boing" sound effect)?
B1: Naiisip mo ba ang naiisip ko, B2?
B2: Sa palagay ko nga , B1!
B1 and B2: Operation (insert plan)!
Nostalgic, isn't it?
It has been 30 years since the well-loved show 'Bananas in Pyjamas' first aired on July 20, 1992 on the ABC network. Since then, the Australian children's show has been syndicated and dubbed in different languages to delight kids all over the world. The live-action series has then been revamped in 2011 and turned into a CGI animated series.
On their official Facebook page, the show posted a picture of its main characters, B1 and B2 in their iconic pajamas, with the caption, "It's our 30th anniversary!"
Original showrunner Helena Harris has revealed in an interview that two of the bears in the show who play the friends of the main characters were named after her own children, Amy and Morgan, and the third bear was named after Amy's best friend Lulu.
We knew that it was so loved by the kids and I think that's because we didn't try to make it anything other than a series for young children.

"We didn't try to make it have clever double entendres or anything like that," Harris mused during an interview with ABC.
