Korean reports revealed that BTS' oldest member Jin has submitted his cancellation of postponement request to the Military Manpower Administration.
Under South Korea's laws, able-bodied males are required to undergo military service before they turn 30. Jin will be turning 30 years old this December 4.
The Korea's Military Service Act of 2020 allows outstanding pop culture icons, like BTS, to postpone their military service until they reach 30 years old. The BTS members have previously postponed their enlistment under this premise.
With Jin submitting his request, he is expected to enlist by the end of this year. Big Hit already announced last October that the BTS members are expected to fulfill their military duty with Jin enlisting first.
Jin's recent solo release 'The Astronaut' achieved the third highest first week sales of any soloist in Hanteo history. He also performed with Coldplay in Argentina last October 28.
