Magnitude 5.3 Quake in Bicol, Tremor Felt in the Metro

Several netizens took to social media when a slight tremblor was felt in the metro just an hour ago.

Phivolcs or the Philippine Institute of Volcanology later issued a report that a magnitude 5.3 earthquake occurred in Camarines Norte at 1:05 this afternoon.

The quake's epicenter was located at 019 kilometers northeast of Tinaga Island in Vinzons, Camarines Norte. The depth of the tremor wasn't mentioned.

Several posts on Twitter immediately showed the actions schools and government offices conducted during the quake.

Students in Araullo HS were prepared for calamities like this, while students from Emilio Aguinaldo College in Manila evacuated their school premises:

Phivolcs warned of possible aftershocks though no reports of damages have been reported yet.
