For hitting man with gun, Cavite cop sacked

"To our chiefs of police, let us religiously remind our personnel to practice maximum tolerance and respect for human rights of everyone…they should refrain from engaging in any illegal activity," Cavite police director Col. Christopher Olazo said in statement policeman who was caught hitting man with his service firearm has been relieved from his post.
Policeman, whose identity was withheld, is facing charges of frustrated homicide aside from administrative cases over incident.
Olazo said policeman, who was assigned in Tagaytay City, was placed under restrictive custody.
Footage of closed-circuit television camera at the scene has gone viral.
It showed policeman, who was in civilian clothes, confronting man then pointing gun at him and hitting him on head several times.
Probers said incident occurred in front of barangay hall in Dasmariñas City.
Olazo said policeman may be dismissed from service.
