Marker unveiled Manila city hall 'important cultural property'

"Recognition was clear manifestation of Filipinos' appreciation of cultural and historical value of Manila city hall," Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna said described as symbol of Filipino resilience, Manila city hall was declared "Important Cultural Property" by National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) in an event.
Lacuna and NMP director general Jeremy Barns unveiled marker for city hall.
NMP recognized city hall's "importance in cultural heritage of Filipino people."
Declaration was made on June 27, 2019.
She described city hall building as icon of capital of the Philippines and symbol of strength of Filipinos.
"We will be strong city whose strength lies in appreciation of lessons by history," Lacuna said in her speech.
Barns described Manila city hall as icon of history, culture and heritage.
He said Manila would receive assistance from national government for maintenance of city hall.
