Jesus called the Apostles to become witnesses and partakers in his mission. As witnesses, they ought to be active listeners and workers who extend to others what they have heard and saw from the Lord. Prayer and charity are essential aspects of this witnessing, which they have observed and learned based on the life lived by and with the Lord.
As a priest-in-process, I am called to bear witness to Christ. This requires active participation in the life of the One who called me - Jesus himself. The life of Christ comprises prayer and charity. This is, therefore, what I am also expected to inculcate and discipline my life for. I am blessed that the seminary formation allows me to animate such a way of life through prayer and apostolate. Prayer is an essential part of our daily lives. Our apostolate is aimed to instill in us pastoral charity. Prayer must become a habit, and charity must become a mission.
