The University of the Philippines Office of the Vice President for Administration (UP OVPA) successfully conducted its first run of LINANG: Mga Serye ng Pagsasanay para sa Pagpapaunlad ng Paglilingkod sa Pamantasan at Bayan on February 28, 29, and March 1, 2024 at the UP National Engineering Center.
Inspired by the Jimenez administration's thrust of "Honor and Excellence in the Service of the Nation," LINANG is intended to cultivate dynamic relationships, a sense of social responsibility, appropriate behavior, and quality work for the University and the community, by equipping employees with the necessary skills and mindset. These are envisioned to enhance professional expertise, as well as effective service delivery.
According to Vice President for Administration Augustus C. Resurreccion, the series complements the plans and programs of UP President Angelo A. Jimenez and an OVPA initial study on Employee Engagement, Satisfaction, and Leadership Perception.
The program covered the following topics Unang Serye: Relasyon at Operasyon, Relationship Operations and Sensitivity Enhancement Seminar (ROSES); Ikalawang Serye: Asal sa Paggawa, Work Attitude and Value Enhancement Seminar (WAVES); and Ikatlong Serye: Kalidad ng Trabaho, Completed Staff Work (CSW) as an Effective Decision-Making and Management Tool.
UP OVPA Assistant Vice President Assoc. Prof. Richard S. Javier, Assistant Vice President Prof. Tiffany Adelaine G. Tan, and Program Development Associate Mr. Pepito T. Dizon served as the subject matter experts.
A total of 41 personnel from the UP OVPA and select Constituent Universities (CUs) completed the program. LINANG is also expected to be implemented in other UP offices, units, and CUs.
