The Office of the Solicitor General (SolGen) is set to file legal action this week against suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.
According to a report by Sandra Aguinaldo on "Saksi," the Bureau of Immigration (BI) has confirmed that Guo remains in the Philippines, along with 17 others on the immigration lookout bulletin in connection with a raided Philippine offshore gaming operation (POGO) in Bamban, suspected of scams, human trafficking, and other illegal activities.
"We are ready to file this week. We are just waiting for certified copies of recently found evidence," Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra stated.
Guo's identity and citizenship have been under scrutiny following Senate hearings. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) discovered last week that she and Chinese citizen Guo Hua Ping share the same fingerprints, indicating they are the same person. This led Sen. Risa Hontiveros to call Guo a "fake Filipino."
In her defense, Guo claims to be a Filipino born to a Chinese father and a Filipino mother. She explained to the Senate committee that she was a love child, and her Filipino mother had already left.
Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian presented documents from the Bureau of Investments and the BI regarding a special investor visa applied for by Lin Wenyi. The Anti-Money Laundering Council also reported that Guo opened a bank account listing her mother's name as Wenyi Lin.
Guo's camp has expressed interest in reviewing the NBI's findings.
