"Welcome, welcome to the Philippines. Thank you for finding time to visit with us while you are traveling around ASEAN. So, I hope you will have a productive visit," Marcos told the Malaysian envoy. According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the two leaders discussed bilateral relations between the Philippines and Malaysia, as well as regional issues. This visit follows Marcos's state visit to Malaysia a year ago and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's official visit to the Philippines four months ago, during which bilateral cooperation in security and the digital economy were key topics. In 2023, the Philippines' exports to Malaysia totaled $2.18 billion, while imports from Malaysia were estimated at $5.92 billion, the PCO reported. | | | |
