The Bureau of Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) seized over P6 million worth of high-grade marijuana, known as kush, in Pasay City. The operation took place on September 12, 2024, with the help of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG).
According to the BOC, four parcels containing 4,877 grams of kush were intercepted at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC), with a total estimated street value of P6,839,560. Additionally, seven vape cartridges containing cannabis oil, valued at P11,760, were also confiscated.
All seized items are now in PDEA's custody, and further investigations are underway. Charges will be filed against the consignees under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) and the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (RA 10863).
"Our resolve to prevent the entry of illegal drugs into the Philippines is stronger than ever," said Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio.
