The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) is investigating alleged connections between Tony Yang, the brother of former presidential economic adviser Michael Yang, and dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo during the height of POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators) operations in Tarlac.
According to a 24 Oras report, Tony Yang, who faces arrest warrants in China for alleged fraud, was apprehended at NAIA on Thursday. Authorities seized P1.4 million in cash, expensive items, a Chinese passport, and a Philippine birth certificate from him. PAOCC chief Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz revealed that Yang used the alias "Antonio Maestrado Lim" to obtain government IDs, similar to the method employed by Alice Guo.
PAOCC is also looking into Yang's 10-hectare property in Cagayan de Oro, which reportedly has a seaport and may be harboring an illegal POGO hub.
Meanwhile, Senator Risa Hontiveros linked Alice Guo's company, BAOFU, to a joint account connected to Michael Yang's brother, Hongjiang Yang, which allegedly funded the raided Bamban POGO hub.
