Residents of Quezon Province were surprised by a magnitude 5.3 tremor Wednesday morning according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The tremor struck at about 7:16 a.m. some 42 kilometers northeast of Jomalig in the said province. The agency determined it to be of tectonic in origin with a depth of focus of 4 kilometers.

Intensity IV - Burdeos, Panukulan, and Patnanungan, QUEZON; Paracale, Santa Elena, and Vinzons, CAMARINES NORTE
Intensity III - Alabat, Calauag, General Nakar, Guinayangan, Infanta, Mauban, Real, and Tagkawayan, QUEZON; Capalonga, Jose Panganiban, Mercedes, and San Lorenzo Ruiz, CAMARINES NORTE; CITY OF TAGUIG; PATEROS;
QUEZON CITY
Intensity II - Atimonan, Gumaca, and Lopez, QUEZON; Basud, Daet, Labo, San Vicente, and Talisay, CAMARINES NORTE; Del Gallego, and Lupi, CAMARINES SUR; CITY OF ANGELES
Intensity I - CITY OF CALOOCAN; CITY OF PASIG
This was followed by another earthquake at 7:55 a.m. with a magnitude of 4.9 in the same area.
