Jericho Rosales, who recently revealed his relationship with actress Janine Gutierrez, shared how he played a pivotal role in helping her grasp her character in the new series "Lavender Fields." The actor disclosed that he and Janine had an extensive four-hour meeting dedicated to discussing her character, Iris, to improve her portrayal.
"I've known Janine for quite some time now. She's a sweet person, loved by everyone on set. She's also very family-oriented and dedicated to her craft. Playing Iris is a huge shift for her," Jericho explained during an interview with Inquirer Entertainment. "I suggested we have a meeting about our characters, and she agreed. We then sat down with our acting coach, Ana Feleo, for four hours to explore the depths of Iris and my character, Tyrone, their relationship as a married couple, and their desires and goals."
By the end of this intensive session, something clicked for Janine. "She had this moment where she said, 'Aha! I get it now!' It was like a lightbulb went off. Iris is very different from who Janine is, which made the role challenging for her. She even had to search through her experiences to find anyone similar to Iris," Jericho recalled. "After that meeting, she had a clear understanding."
This series marks Jericho's return to teleserye after a six-year hiatus, a period he used for personal growth. "A lot has changed for me since then. I've kept the good parts of myself and let go of the negative ones. Now, I know what I want and how to handle my relationships better. I'm focused on relationships that help me grow and welcoming any advice on self-improvement," Jericho added. "I've embarked on a journey of self-discovery, and I approach my work with honesty and openness."
