Sandro Muhlach, son of actor Niño Muhlach, has lodged a formal complaint with GMA Network against two of its independent contractors, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, alleging sexual abuse.
"GMA Network has just received a formal complaint from Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach against two GMA independent contractors, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz," the Kapuso network stated in an official release on Thursday, August 1.
Recognizing the severity of the allegations, GMA Network had already begun its investigation prior to receiving the formal complaint. The network also highlighted Sandro's request for confidentiality, ensuring that the details of the investigation will remain undisclosed until its conclusion.
"The Network assures the public and all stakeholders of its commitment to conducting this investigation with the highest standards of fairness and impartiality," the statement added.
While the official statement did not specify the incident, it is believed to be related to a recent blind item that accused two GMA consultants of sexually abusing a young actor after a network event. Speculations that Sandro Muhlach was the victim emerged, especially following cryptic social media posts by his father, Niño Muhlach, and stepmother, Diane Abby Tupaz, calling for justice.
Sandro, who belongs to a prominent showbiz family, has also shared a religious quote about the "helpless," further fueling these speculations. His lineage includes his grandmother, Amalia Fuentes, known as the "Queen of Philippine Movies," his late aunt Liezel Martinez, her husband Albert Martinez, and his uncle Aga Muhlach, among others.
